Down to the bare bones of the project!

This is where we stand right now. We started gutting the room. All the dry wall is out and the old vanity and the sink is bye bye! Yeah! We have to make some changes to the plumbling. Of course a redo in this house is never a simple task. It is always harder working with an existing house.

The type of vanity that I have my heart set on is the type that looks like a piece of furniture. I do like the antique white look with ball feet or more of a queen ann style. I am leaning towards black faucets as well. Check out the picture.

I would like an arch above the sinks with recessed lighting. I am not sure what to do with the mirrors yet. I thought I would buy matching mirrors but I think it would look nicer if my hubby could maybe do some trim work around the existing mirror. When we did the guest bath a few years ago, I added sconces to the mirror. I took the old mirror to a glass cutting store and had them cut circles. I really like that look but I might want to do something different. I just haven't made up my mind.

I rented a steamer from Home Depot the other day and took off the old wall paper in my bedroom. I have hated that wallpaper from day one. I can't tell you how excited I am about just that being gone. Before I rented the steamer I tried taking off the old paper using Dif and fabric softner. But neither one was doing the trick. The streamer was faster and gave me a much better result. I did however damage the wall in a few places. But no biggie we will just have to mud and sand the damage. Add one more thing!!!!

My husband works full time so this is a project he will be working on here and there. I try to help as much as I can. I like to watch and learn.

I will post more pictures as soon as we have a little more progress.

Hey Janell~ I am so excited! I just wish I could snap my fingers and it would be done. But I guess thats not real life.

I did go on vacation one time in the middle of one of our many redos. When I came back it was all done. Maybe that should be my plan this time. No really I am having fun watching and helping with the progress.

I have grown a custom to dust!

You weren't kidding when you said it was gutted! I'm sure it's going to look fabulous when it's all completed. I like the dual vanity sink selection. I like sinks that look like pieces of furniture.

Holy cow about the April Fool's joke. That was a good one for sure.
