What I did over the weekend!

This past weekend I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday up in Warren Pennsylvania at our family cabin. I thought I would share some of the beautiful country side with you guys.

I brought my friend Lisa this time. It was her first time to visit the camp. We decided to spend a day full of nature walks and site seeing. This picture is of the Kinzua Dam. I am standing at an over look.
So then we decided to take a drive over to Rimrock. I just love it there. It is a great place to be one with nature. We started out walking through the woods on this nature trail. The picture you see below is a pathway through these huge boulders. If you are claustrophobic, don't attempt this. It is very tight.
At the bottom of the steps there was this little frog just waiting for us to say hello. He wasn't even shy to have his picture taken.
I was the one walking down the stairs first and then Lisa followed. When I got to the bottom, I was to busy looking at Mr. Toad. Lisa said I almost stepped on this cute little snake, she didn't call him cute. I use to play with snakes when I was little. But spiders are a different story. YUK! It was a little hard to get a good picture. He was all over the place. He had a little stripe around his neck. I think he was harmless?! At least I hope so. I was about to pick him up. But I thought I better not.
After we got to the bottom of the steps there were all these huge rocks every where. It was the coolest thing. We walked all through there. It was great.
I loved this spot. If you stand right in front of these two rocks you get a huge gust of cold air coming through these rocks. It was like a natural air conditioner.
There was even a little bench for old people like me that had to take a rest from all that rock climbing.

This is a view of the steps coming back up.
One more spot I took Lisa was another nature walk. This one has this tiny waterfall. I wasn't to keen on walking in this area. It was a little scary trying to get down this steep trail to get a good picture of this waterfall.

Finally we ended the trip at the dam. I took pictures of these huge fish. People stand at the top of the dam and throw bread down to them. They are like a bunch of vultures.
We had the best time. It was suppose to be 8 girls and me. But in the long run between cars breaking down, flat tires, a daughters recital and another daughters birthday it ended up just being my Best Friend and Me.
We worked on a 1000 piece puzzle. We almost finished but not quit.
So being that it was just the two of us it didn't matter. We still made the best of it. We had a ball anyway. But we can't wait to do it again.

That place is gorgeous! I hope you didn't get into some poison ivy like Cole did this weekend! It's on one side of his face and he decided to take a "break" outdoors. His junk has it now, not a pretty thing.

Oh Kim, It all sounds sooo wonderful!! I am wondering how close we live to each other as we have a cabin in Sullivan County, Pa in the Elkland-Dushore area. It takes us about 3.5 hours to get there from where we live in central NJ. I love the outdoors...the peacefulness is fantastic! BTW..Can't wait to peek for your shop update. Hope I remember to check in!!!

Kim, what a gorgeous and serene place to be. The steps are so cool, it's like it takes you down to a magical fairy land. I think that is so neat to be able to spend time with your best friend!

So jealous. What I wouldn't give for a weekend away in the mountains. I'll bet it was like good therapy!

Gorgeous photos, Kim! Cabin weekends in the mountains are the best! I've been doing them with a group of women friends for several years now. We go 3 times a year and rent a cabin in one of PA's state parks. Lucky you to have a cabin of your own!

Nice pictures and boy what fun! Always great getting away with your best friend. Love the toad... not a fan of the snake. I despise spiders with every fiber of my being. They make my flesh crawl.

OK, I have to know! Did you kiss the frog? He could have been a prince just waiting for someone like you to come along and break the spell he was under.

Hugs,
Joanne

Hey Joanne and Annie,

Joanne I did not kiss the frog. He He! You never know where he has been.

Annie, I will be going to camp next week for the fourth. Do you ever go to Warren at all. It is beautiful country over there.
