Slowing things up a bit!

The last few weeks have been difficult for me. I have a problem with my neck. It's a chronic problem that has been going on for the past few weeks and even years. I went the to the physical therapist on Monday. She basically said my neck is a big fat mess. We went through an evaluation process. Once she was done, She gave me a list of stretching exercises to do. I will be doing all on a daily basis. I have been working none stop all year. It has been a great year for me. It's like when it rains it pours. Trust me I am not complaining. I love to be busy. It pains me so much that I will not be able to produce as much as I would like to. But I am some what of a workaholic. So neck pain and all, I will be doing as much as my body allows. I have 2 special order houses, 13 Halloween orni's for a customer, and the start of the Christmas season orders. Don't give up me. I will work on strengthening my neck so I will be in tip top shape for the Christmas season.

Thanks Sheila, I am trying to do everything that the doctor says. But it is hard when this is my busiest time of the year. Thanks for the well wishes.

Hi Kim~
I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I hope your neck problems get better quickly. Thanks for the nice birthday wishes! I'm a wretched woman for not getting back to you sooner, but it's been busy with my mom visiting. I'll call you later this week! Take care of yourself and feel BETTER!!!!

Take it easy girl, I know the feeling. Earlier this year,in March, I was in the hospital. I have two herniated discs and a bone spur in my neck (C5&6)....and I didn't have any accidents or anything strange happen to me. Therapy was good, but I now do back excercises and strengthen it everyday. Plus, I can only work for 30 minutes a day on my clay....I know its tough. A good tip, get a workstation so your looking at your pieces at eye level. Plus, I had to get a special pillow at Select Comfort..I can't live with out it! Take it slow...also eat fresh pineapple, its a natural anti-inflammatory (natural glucosimine sp?)Good luck...sorry for rambling, take care, Jackie

Thanks guys! Today was another physical therapy day. We focused on the neck and my knee as well. But the neck is the part that I really want fixed. Thanks for all your well wishes. I hate this! Not being able to do what I want. But my body is telling me to take a break. So I will try.

Oh dear Kim...I hope your neck gets better soon. I have had the same problem and physical therapy did wonders! My chair at the computer and at my studio table was the culprit. Be kind to yourself, take lots of breaks, stretch and ice/heat your problem area and follow your exercise regimen. You'll be back to normal in no time. Gentle hugs to you...Iva

Thanks so much all my blogging friends. You guys are truly sweethearts. I am taking it easy. But it is so hard. I don't normally do that. But I think I have to this time. I have been doing my stretches and that seems to help. Hopefully in 8 to 9 weeks I will be back better than ever. He HE!!

Oh Kim! I understand so well!!
I severely sprained my neck a couple of years ago and I still suffer with it. I'm doing my chin tucks right now;) Hang in there and don't be too hard on yourself:) Sending you big hugs!!
